Last week, I announced that we are moving(!!!) and explained all the reasons why. Thank you so much for the positive response. Making a big change in front of so many people is a little daunting, which is why I started my “close friends” group on Instagram for paid subscribers. This way, I can test the waters whenever I am questioning what to share publicly. I’ve been answering their big (and small) questions about the apartment all week and now I’m ready to share.
I’m so excited for you guys! Julianne Moore also lives in the neighborhood and I’ve bumped into this actor from the 90s chick flicks a million times that I can’t place and it’s killing me!
Congrats again, sounds like a fun and exciting time for you and your family! I never knew what Tribeca stood for! I own a condo that I rent out now, and being a landlord is definitely interesting. I have learned to treasure those tenants who don't need me to come by every couple weeks. I go back and forth on using a property manager, but in the end I'm too cheap, lol. I hope the move goes well, can't wait to see how you decorate your new place to go with the pretty rugs!
Hey Ilana. Congrats on locking down the new place! I'm excited to see what you do with the space. I had a rental question. I'm from India and there's a chance I might move to New York in the fall for grad school. Which places in NY are student friendly, both budget and demographic wise? I was looking online and didn't know where to begin! And what's a fair price to pay for student rentals?
Where are you going to school? If you are going to NYU, Greenwich Village and East Village are probably where the most students are. I would try to be as close to Washington Square Park as possible as that's pretty central to the downtown area and a big gathering place for students. I'm sure there is student housing around there that would be cheaper than trying to find a regular apartment. If you don't want student housing, East Village would be less expensive than Greenwich. East Village is also where you will find tons of budget friendly bars and restaurants. If East Village isn't your vibe, Nolita and Lower East Side are good places to look. Nolita is more upscale and trendier but not as expensive as West Village. If you are going to Colombia, that's uptown and a whole different ball game.
There are beautiful parks along the Hudson River. I don't know where the nearest dog park is but Frankie hates them! It's a little farther from my sister but hopefully we can have their family over more since we'll have more space!
I'm excited to see what the girls do with their individual spaces! That kitchen is awesome! I can't believe how much bigger it is than your old one! We love our island so much (we can seat 6 people at it) because we can have multiple people making different dishes at the same time!
It was a web series for Ulive, which is now defunct. I interviewed people in my apartment while I took care of my kids, who were really little at the time, and I had them do household tasks for me while we talked. I think I had Julianne Moore label Mazzy's camp clothes. I continued it on my own for a bit but it was too expensive to produce and so much work for the money. I can't believe some of the guests we had!
I love this and I can't wait to see the new place, especially the girls' rooms to get some inspiration for when I move and my daughters each get their own room!

Ah! I love Julianne Moore. She was one of my guests on the Mommy Shorts Show (which was forever ago) and she was unbelievably nice in person.
So excited for you. Hope it all works out for you guys. Wishing you all the best!!!

Not quite like most of the influencer moms from Utah. Most of them don’t drink coffee!!🤣
Congrats Wiles Family!! Will there be a park nearby for Frankie? Will you be moving closer to your Sister’s family? 🌳🐶❤️🏢

So exciting!! Do you have your own balcony?
We do not! One of the things we gave up. there is a communal rooftop deck though.

Can’t wait to see the place. I’m excited for you and the kids.
Excited to see the new place! I want to move but can’t yet so I’m going to vicariously live through you!
